Youth Activism Society is a youth-led, nonpartisan, and social media based organization that strives for change! YAS was started in 2018 by a group of students in South-East Idaho with the hopes of creating more opportunities for those a part of Gen-Z in their local area. What started as a small group of 4 high schoolers in Idaho, has now grown to a large youth-led organization - with chapters in Utah, California, Michigan, Texas, and Idaho, along with nearly 40+ active youth members! Our mission at YAS is to create change nationally by starting locally. We truly believe the largest impact comes from bringing change to your local community! That is why with our recent chapter expansions, we focus immensely on tackling locally based issues in the areas where our chapters are located. Which is also why the projects the Utah chapter runs differs from the projects our Michigan, California, and Idaho chapters run! Along with that, we also stress the importance of getting youth involved in their socio-economic environment - which we are able to do so by hosting marches, protests, and other events to spark awareness. We also believe volunteer work is another way to become active in our communities. Therefore we highlight the importance of volunteering and working with local businesses and other local organizations to create tighter-knit communities all around the world!
